JR's teaching approach focuses on the proper grip and setup position for each golfer so that the grip ensures the club to be square at impact and the setup position allows the golfer to move freely and establish the proper ball position with maximum speed at the point of contact.

Twice named Southern Ohio PGA Teacher of the Year, JR also works with Champion’s Tour player, Rod Spittle. His best junior player is Leila Raines from Olentangy Berlin.

Golf Lessons at Westerville Golf

Individual golf lessons are available with JR Ables at Westerville Golf, Westerville, Ohio. Grass tees are available in the summer, weather permitting. During the winter and inclement weather, lessons will be taught using the covered, heated tees.

One half-hour lesson is $80 (student purchases any size bucket of balls). For a series of three or more, the individual lesson price is $70. Junior lessons are available at $60 each.

Golf Lessons at Safari Golf Club

Golf lessons are available with JR Ables at the practice facility at Safari Golf Club, which includes grass tees, putting and chipping greens, and a practice bunker.
